Manistee County, Michigan. As of the
2000 census, the city had a total population of 6,586. It is the
county seat of
Manistee County6.

\nAccording to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 11.3
km² (4.3
mi²). 8.4 km² (3.2 mi²) of it is land and 2.8 km² (1.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 25.29% water.

2000, there are 6,586 people, 2,912 households, and 1,729 families residing in the city. The
