Metallics is the shorthand name given to the second incarnation of Pokemon games, which includes Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal.
The metallics games improve upon the chromatics set by adding another land with eight more gym leaders, 100 more Pokemon, the new Steel and Dark types, color, and dozens more techniques. The Special statistic from chromatics also becomes Special Attack and Special Defense.
Pokemon Stadium 2 is the corresponding Nintendo 64 game, which allows all 251 monsters to battle.
