In Britain 9 editions of a free newspaper called Metro are published by Associated Newspapers. This Metro newspaper, originally published in London, is available from Monday to Friday each week, from most London Underground stations. It is also distributed in Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, and Sheffield. It is part of the Daily Mail, The Mail on Sunday, Evening Standard and Metro media group.
Metro International, the international publisher of another free newspaper called "Metro", has plans to launch a rivalling free evening newspaper in London [1].
