The Air Force Midgetman (alternative designation Minuteman II) was manufactured by Martin Marietta.

The Midgetman was a small two-stage ICBM, and was intended to be a successor to the aging Minuteman ICBM force. The Midgetman was much smaller, hence the name. It was never deployed in an operational configuration.

Its design was that of a Hardened Mobile Launcher, able to be moved around via truck and tractor, similar to a Ground Launched Cruise Missile (GLCM). This gave the weapons system added survivability. It could be deployed and moved at will, unlike its predecessors, the silo-based Minuteman, Minuteman 2, Minuteman 3.
