Title of song: Miss Lucifer's Love
Artist: Funkadelic
Title of album: America Eats Its Young
Year of first release: 1972
Songwriter(s): George Clinton, Fuzzy Haskins
Memorable Lyrics:
- "Miss Lucifer's love/She's the devil and I like it/Ooh, her love is so exciting"
- "When she come/I'll tell it on a mountain/When she come/I'll drink from her unholy fountain"
The singer describes his love for "Miss Lucifer." Although she is referred to as "the devil," Miss Lucifer is not necessarily Satan (see Lucifer) as certain critics (predominantly Christian fundamentalists) have argued. The singer could be addressing a former lover, who, in retrospect, he sees as being similar to the devil in both her exciting, passionate danger and her cruel and sadistic nature.
