North Attleborough is a town located in Bristol County, Massachusetts. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 27,143.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 49.3 km² (19.0 mi²). 48.3 km² (18.6 mi²) of it is land and 1.1 km² (0.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.15% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 27,143 people, 10,391 households, and 7,232 families residing in the town. The population density is 562.2/km² (1,456.0/mi²). There are 10,635 housing units at an average density of 220.3/km² (570.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 95.97% White, 0.92% African American, 0.12% Native American, 1.71% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.45% from other races, and 0.81% from two or more races. 1.32% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 10,391 households out of which 36.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.0% are married couples living together, 9.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 30.4% are non-families. 24.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.60 and the average family size is 3.15.

In the town the population is spread out with 26.9% under the age of 18, 6.6% from 18 to 24, 34.4% from 25 to 44, 22.5% from 45 to 64, and 9.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 94.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.3 males.
