North Cass is an unorganized territory located in Cass County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the unorganized territory had a total population of 348.

Geography

\nAccording to the
United States Census Bureau, the unorganized territory has a total area of 727.6 km² (280.9 mi²). 536.7 km² (207.2 mi²) of it is land and 190.9 km² (73.7 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 26.24% water.

Demographics

\nAs of the
census of 2000, there are 348 people, 119 households, and 94 families residing in the unorganized territory. The population density is 0.6/km² (1.7/mi²). There are 274 housing units at an average density of 0.5/km² (1.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the unorganized territory is 35.92% White, 0.00% African American, 63.22% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.29% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.57% from two or more races. 1.72% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 119 households out of which 37.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.7% are married couples living together, 21.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 20.2% are non-families. 17.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.92 and the average family size is 3.11.
