Offenbach is a city in Hesse, Germany, located at the river Main. Geographical location 50° 06' North, 8° 41' East; population 119.233 (2002).

The city is located right next to Frankfurt to the east, the urban areas of the two cities already grew inside each other, which makes Offenbach a kind of satellite city of Frankfurt.

The city was a center of the leather industry, which has however declined in the last decades. It is still the seat of the Deutsches Leder Museum (German Leather Museum), and also of the internation leather fair. It is also the seat of the Deutscher Wetterdienst (German weather service).

Historic buildings are the Offenbach castle, and the Steinheim castle in neighboring Hanau, both near the Main river.
