The municipality also comprises the following towns, villages and townships: Berghem, Haren, Macharen, Megen and the former municipality of Ravenstein. Oss, which was granted city rights in 1399, has several chemical and pharmaceutical industries. Oss is also host to the professional football team TOP Oss, and is the birthplace of Manchester United star Ruud van Nistelrooy.
