Panzerschreck (tank scarer in the German language) is an anti-tank weapon used by Germany during World War II. It was developed by copying the US Army's "bazooka", but made considerably more capable in terms of armor penetration in order to deal with current and future Red Army tanks. Whereas the bazooka had problems with the German 100mm armor, notably on the Tiger tank, the Panzerschreck could penetrate over 200mm of armor which enabled it to deal with any tank fielded during the war.
