Pardek, a character from the fictional television series Star Trek: The Next Generation, appeared in the episodes Unification I and Unification II as a Romulan senator.

Athough a senator for nine decades, Pardek associated too closely with the "common people," leaving himself ostracized by the Romulan political elite. However this association secured him the acceptance of Romulans who spoke out against the oppressive and rigidly conformist government of that day. In particular, Pardek was allowed into the inner circle of a widespread, underground movement which sought reunification with the people of Vulcan. This inner circle had as one of its prominent members the Federation ambassador Spock. Spock had chosen to dedicate his life to pursuing a Romulan—Vulcan reunification, living in obscurity on Romulus among others of the movement. (Spock may very well have been the one to welcome Pardek into the movement, as he and Pardek had been trusted friends for eighty years.)

But Pardek, no doubt aware of his limited career, chose to use his acceptance among these dissidents as leverage for furthering his political future. In a brash attempt to gain the appreciation of the Romulan ruling class, particularly Proconsul Neral of the Senate and military Commander Sela (daughter of Tasha Yar), he exposed Spock and several others as part of the aforementioned underground movement. Spock's subsequent capture became a milestone event in an intricate Romulan deception (later foiled by the Federation) to conquer Vulcan.
