The Pearl District (or just "The Pearl") is a former warehouse / light industrial area just north of central Portland, Oregon. The Pearl has gone through significant gentrification starting in the late 1990s and is now full of high-rise condos and warehouse-to-loft conversions. Expensive boutiques and resteraunts abound, but there are still lots of small clubs and bars that attract the non-yuppy crowd (Jimmy Mak's - former home of Tony Starlight).

The area is home to several Portland icons: Powell's Books, the Portland Streetcar (runs through the Pearl on the way to Downtown and NW 23rd), the Weinhard Brewery (now a multi-use building) and the BridgePort Brewery.
