Perkiomen Township is a township located in
Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. As of the
2000 census, the township had a total population of 7,093.
Geography
\nAccording to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 12.8
km² (4.9
mi²). 12.5 km² (4.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.03% water.

2000, there are 7,093 people, 2,468 households, and 1,966 families residing in the township. The
population density is 567.0/km² (1,467.5/mi²). There are 2,556 housing units at an average density of 204.3/km² (528.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 92.99% White, 3.14%
African American, 0.11%
Native American, 1.90%
Asian, 0.07% Pacific Islander, 0.62% from other races, and 1.16% from two or more races. 1.52% of the population are

Latino of any race.
There are 2,468 households out of which 48.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 69.4% are married couples living together, 7.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 20.3% are non-families. 16.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.87 and the average family size is 3.25.
In the township the population is spread out with 31.7% under the age of 18, 4.4% from 18 to 24, 41.9% from 25 to 44, 16.7% from 45 to 64, and 5.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 33 years. For every 100 females there are 98.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 93.3 males.
