The Princess Diana Memorial Fund was set up after the death of Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997. It received money set aside by the will of Princess Diana, contributions by her former husband, Prince Charles, donations by the public, and the proceeds from Elton John's new rendition of Candle In The Wind.

It had assests of approximately £23 million pounds sterling, according to recent reports in the Times.

It recently disbursed some £2.3 million to her two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

It grants money to organizations and individuals with special needs in the United Kingdom; mostly to those with dire medical needs.
