Rachael Leigh Cook is an actress.
Cook was born on October 4, 1979 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She began working as a model at the age of 10 (her image still appears on boxes of Milk-Bone Dog Biscuits). At 14, she began auditioning for acting work. She first gained national attention when she was featured in a series of public service anti-drug ads ("This is your brain...This is your brain on drugs"). Success in the acting profession followed quickly and she debuted in The Baby-Sitters Club (1995). Her two biggest roles to date have been the leads in She's All That (1999) and Josie and the Pussycats (2001). Cook has also appeared in a number of independent films.
