Sir Robert Wingfield of Lethringham (1403-1454) in Lethringham, England. Married to Elizabeth Gousell, with whom he had one child, Elizabeth Wingfield. On May 19, 1426 he was knighted at Hereford. In 1463 he accompanied the Duke of Norfolk on his embassy to France; in 1443 he became Steward to Duke of Norfolk; in 1427-1436 he was Knight of the Shire for Suffolk; in 1449 he was Knight of the Shire for Hertffordshire. On November 28, 1436 he was appointed steward of the honor of Richmond in Norfolk. From 1447-1448 he was imprisoned in Marchalsea for riot, but was later pardoned. In 1450 he was denounced in Parliament as one of the Kings evil advisors. He went on a royal commission in 1451, and died 1454.
