Lore

Rock Hill was named for a pile of rocks that were near the railroad tracks going through the region. That rock pile was later removed in order to make room for a bank. City limits signs proclaim that Rock Hill is a city "with no room for racism." Presumably, racists are made to live in the county. The symbol of the city are the four "Civitats" on Dave Lyle Blv. Each of them hold something different, and there is some pretend symbolism to that. Rock Hill is sometimes called "Rock Thrill" by teenagers who should know better than to mock their hometown.
