In the comedy Western film Lord Burnstead (Roland Young) loses his butler Ruggles (Charles Laughton) playing poker. Egbert and Effie Floud (Charlie Ruggles and Mary Boland) bring Ruggles back to Red Gap, a Western town. When the butler is mistaken for a wealthy Englishman, he becomes a small-town celebrity. The film was written by Walter DeLeon, Humphrey Pearson and Harlan Thompson from the novel and play of the same name by Harry Leon Wilson. It was directed by Leo McCarey.
