Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,328 km² (899 mi²). 2,291 km² (885 mi²) of it is land and 37 km² (14 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.59% water.

The racial makeup of the county is 97.58% White, 0.50% Black or African American, 0.56% Native American, 0.33% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.27% from other races, and 0.75% from two or more races. 0.91% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
