Main Page | See live article | Alphabetical index Rutland is a Unitary Authority Area in England, bounded on the west and north by Leicestershire, northeast by Lincolnshire, and southeast by Northamptonshire. The administrative county of the same name was abolished in the local government reorganisation of 1974, but it was restored as a UAA by popular demand in the later administrative reform of 1999.
