Steve Wynn (born Feb. 21, 1960) is a songwriter based in New York (born in California).

= Bio = He started the influential band the Dream Syndicate in 1981, after he had explored new wave in The Suspects (along with Kendra Smith(v), later in the Dream Syndiacte, Open and Clay Allison, Ross Tolman(g) and Gavin Blair(d) who later formed True West, and Steve Suchil(b))and flirted with Joy Division like sounds in 15 Minutes.

The Dream Syndicate got huge critical succes, and less commercial success. They also got a solid fan base.

in 1990 Steve Wynn went solo, and released a number albums exploring various musical styles. When he release Here Come The Miracles in 2001, he was rewarded with massive critical succes (numerous top 10 of 2001 list entries) and it was his best selling solo album to date.

In 1985 he wrote a colletion of songs with Dan Stuart of Green on Red, and recorded and released them as Danny and Dusty

In the 90's he was a part of the indie supergrup Gutterball along with Stephen McCarthy of The Long Ryders and Brian Harvey and Johnny Hott of House Of Freaks
