The Svealand theory is the commonly held belief amongst most scholars that Gamla Uppsala in Uplandia, Sweden, was the location of the ancient pagan temple of Asa-faith worshippers, i.e. the place which in earliest forms was written Ubsola. The theory also includes the belief that Uplandia and the region of lake Mälaren was the origin of Svealand, and its tribe the Svear.
