There are many who consider her a genuine psychic, but skeptics point out how she uses the standard "fishing" techniques of cold reading.
Browne has twice stated on Larry King Live that she would take up skeptic James Randi's $1,000,000 challenge to demonstrate supernatural abilities in a controlled situation. As of 2004 this has not taken place; on his website and in his newsletter, Randi claims Browne has taken a series of dilatory and evasive actions in this regard.
