The Takarazuka Revue Company is a Japanese revue troupe with an all-female cast. Founded in 1914 by Ichizo Kobayashi.

In the Takarazuka musicals, which are nowadays many times based on manga, women play not only the female parts but also the male roles.

The Takarazuka shows gather an audience which totals at 2.5 million per year. Most fans of the group are young women.

The most popular of the Takarazuka musicals to date was The Rose of Versailles, based on a manga by Riyoko Ikeda.
