Teddy Duchamp is a character in the movie Stand By Me, based on the Stephen King novella The Body. He dreams of a career in the military, like his father who helped take the shores of Normandy in World War II.

Teddy has naturally bad eyesight, but his ears were burned by his paranoid father after he accidently dropped a plate. His father was arrested, and Teddy's dreams of joining the army were ruined. He was turned down by the draft, and was killed in a drunk driving incident along with a group of others in his car years later.
