Ten Network so called because it broadcasts on Channel 10 in most cities, is Australia's third but possibly most profitable television network. Run by CanWest management, with significant Australian ownership, it is now listed on the Australian Stock Exchange.

It was nearly folded into the Seven Network in the early 1990s, but due to the lobbying power of billionaire Kerry Packer, this was successfully resisted.

It runs a staple of Fox and other American sitcoms and cartoons. It runs an hour of news because it is cheap. It is run with ruthless efficiency, in stark contrast to big-spending competitors.
