Geography Thayer is located at 41°1'45" North, 94°2'59" West (41.029242, -94.049856)1. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.3 km² (0.1 mi²), all of it land. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there are 66 people, 26 households, and 15 families residing in the city. The population density is 254.8/km² (672.7/mi²). There are 35 housing units at an average density of 135.1/km² (356.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 96.97% White and 3.03% Native American. There are 26 households out of which 26.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.2% are married couples living together, none have a female householder with no husband present, and 38.5% are non-families. 26.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 15.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.54 and the average family size is 3.06. In the city the population is spread out with 25.8% under the age of 18, 12.1% from 18 to 24, 33.3% from 25 to 44, 18.2% from 45 to 64, and 10.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 33 years. For every 100 females there are 112.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 104.2 males.
