The Bran Flakes is a collage band from Seattle, Washington and consists of Otis Fodder and Sir Mildred Pitt. Like Negativland and Evolution Control Committee, the band makes extensive use of (typically unauthorized) sampling, recontextualizing the samples into new works. The group scours thrift shops for obscure and quirky LPs; some of their songs also make use of recognizably famous basslines, television shows, and soundtracks from video games.

Some of The Bran Flakes' better known songs include "Good Times a Goo Goo," remixing Kermit the Frog and Fozzie's performance of "Moving Right Along" (from one of the Muppets movies), looping parts of it and adding bass and drums; "Panties," a 23 second song about a young girl who can keep her panties dry; and "Perversion for Profit," adding parts of the narration of a disapproving social guidance film about sexual subcults to progressions of major-keyed flutes and horns.
