The Force M.D.s (M.D.s an abbrieviation for Musical Diversities)are a hip-hop, doo wop group that was formed in 1983, in Staten Island, Ny.Before the rise of new jack swing came to the surface, though they weren't quite always as recognizable as other New York hip-hop acts when they first started out,they were among the first r&b vocal groups to intermix doo wop-affected consonances with hip-hop beats. Once known as the L.D.s, they began performing on the Greenwich Village street corners and Staten Island's ferry. The group consisted of the Lundy brothers Stevie D. and Antoine/T.C.D., the Lundy's uncle Jessie Lee Daniels, and their friends Trisco Pearson and Charles 'Mercury' Nelson. After they got with D.J. DR. Rock, they also formed as Dr. Rock & The M.C.s. and played at hip-hop shows.

By the time the Force M.D.s got a record deal and signed to Tommy Boy in 1984, they already developed into a pure quiet storm/urban r&b group, signalized by their street attitude. They had a collection of r&b hits throughout the 80s, but their sole pop hit was the top ten Jimmy Jam/Terry Lewis penned love song "Tender Love" from their either their first album "Love Letters"(1984) or second "Chillin'"(1986)and the song was featured in the film Krush Groove(1985). Their first r&b # 1 finally came to be in 1987 with "Love Is A House" from the third album "Touch And Go", but their popular started to fade the next year.
