The Prince of Tides is a 1991 film which tells the story of a writer who is reluctant to help his sister's psychiatrist to unlock family secrets. It stars Barbra Streisand, Nick Nolte, Blythe Danner, Kate Nelligan, Jeroen Krabbé, Melinda Dillon and George Carlin.

The movie was adapted by Pat Conroy and Becky Johnston from Conroy's novel. It was directed by Streisand.
