Wars on Terra, A pun on the War on Terror, commenting on the perpetual nature of the War on Terror. Terra, is the Latin for Earth, and a war on Earth is a war on the planet itself, or a non-distinct war, taking place on the Earth. It has the capacity to extend unto perpetuity, as proponents of such a war see fit.

Critics of the War on Terror point the illegitimacy of "terror" as a target, as it is not a thing or a limited quantity, but an emotional aspect, or an ambiguous term. As terrorists groups may splinter, and regroup under different affiliations, the focus of the War on Terror would tend also to be flexible, so as to include non-combatants, and people not-associated with active terrorist groups.

In Chechnya, for example, the fine line between terrorist and rebel separatist is blurred, giving further weight to the claim that a War on Terror is not bound to terrorist groups.
