The University of Colorado, Boulder (usually called CU in Boulder) is the flagship university of the Colorado state system.

At the present writing (August 2003), there are approximately 29,000 students, of whom 22,000 are undergraduates. Of these, about 47% are women; 53% are men, and two-thirds are Colorado residents. More demographic information is available at CU's web site, below in references.

CU is famous as the home of the Alferd Packer Grill, probably the only campus eatery in America named for a convicted cannibal.

CU Boulder has a reputation as a party school for rich white kids, and in 2003 the Princeton Review awarded it as the top party school in the nation (USA), out of 351 entrants, but has produced a number of astronauts, Nobel Prize winners, and respected academics.
