Ushuaia is the southernmost city in the world. It is located on the southern coast of Tierra del Fuego in Argentina, in a spectacular setting surrounded by mountains and overlooking the Beagle Channel.

Although Ushuaia itself is not especially attractive, it is a key access point to the southern regions; it receives regular flights from Buenos Aires, (at Ushuaia International Airport), and cruise ships visiting the Falkland Islands and Antarctica dock at the port. There are a number of ski areas nearby.

Also of interest is the Tierra del Fuego national park to see the Bahia Lapataia on to the west on the border with Chile, and hiring a boat charter to Cape Horn (in Chilean waters).
