The first Ohio was a schooner on Lake Erie during the War of 1812. The second Ohio was a ship of the line launched in 1820 and in use as a warship until 1850, then later a receiving ship. The third USS Ohio (BB-12) was a Maine-class pre-Dreadnought battleship. The fourth ship of this name was USS Ohio (BB-68), a Montana class battleship cancelled before her keel was laid down.
