Dr Wayne Mapp is the National Party Member of Parliament for North Shore, New Zealand.

Dr Mapp was first elected to Parliament in 1996.

He is currently the National Party's spokesperson for Constitutional and Treaty of Waitangi issues, and Immigration.

Wayne Mapp is an expert in International Trade Law, taxation law & constitutional issues and has published internationally in these fields. From 1994-1996 he was Associate Professor of Commercial Law at Auckland University and was a member of the University Senate.

He was a commissioned officer in the NZ Territorial Army prior to entering Parliament. In the Army he specialised in military intelligence, infantry and signals. Whilst in military intelligence he studied peace enforcement operations and the law of armed conflict.

He is a keen private plane and glider pilot and a keen sailor and has tramped most of the great walks in New Zealand.

Dr Mapp is married to Denese Henare who is well known for her work in Maori constitutional law and is a former Law Commissioner.
