Woodstock Palace was a royal residence in the Oxfordshire town of Woodstock. The title of "palace" was first used to refer to it during the 12th century, when it was favoured by King Henry I of England. In about 1120, he created a zoo in the grounds. His grandson, Henry II was also fond of Woodstock, and spent time here with his mistress, Rosamund Clifford. Important events which took place at the palace included:
- The marriage of William the Lyon to the English princess, Ermengarde (1186)
- The birth of Edmund, youngest son of King Edward I of England (1301)
- The birth of Edward, the Black Prince (1330)
- Imprisonment of the future Queen Elizabeth I of England (1554)
