Alicante (Catalan, Alacant) is a province of eastern Spain, in the southern part of the autonomous community of Valencia. It is bordered by the provinces of Murcia, Albacete, Valencia, and the Mediterranean Sea.

The population of the province is 1,557,968 (2002). Its capital is Alicante. Other major towns of the province include Elche, Benidorm, Denia, Altea, Orihuela, Torrevieja, Elda, Novelda, Villena, Alcoy, Calpe. See List of municipalities in Alicante.

Benidorm is a major seaside resort.
