The Church of Denmark (Den Danske Folkekirke) is the largest Christian church in Denmark. It can claim the membership of over 95% of the Danish people, although less than 5% of their members attend weekly services. The Church of Denmark is a Lutheran body.

Church life is organized in 12 dioceses and around 2,000 parishes.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Denmark is a state church. The Danish parliament, Folketinget, is the legislative authority for the church. The Minister for Ecclesiastical Affairs is the highest administrative authority.
