Civilization II is a computer game, the sequel to Sid Meier's Civilization. It was released in 1996 and later ported to the Sony Playstation.

The game features new concepts, such as firepower and hitpoints (meaning phalanxes can't beat battleships), and changes some units' abilities and strengths. For instance, engineers and settlers can be automated to improve surrounding areas, but no longer ignore enemy zones of control. Attack strength of the cruise missile has been decreased; defense strength of stealth bombers has been increased.

The game was followed by Firaxis' Civilization III.
