The national flag of Barbados was adopted on November 30, 1966. It consists of a tricolor of two blue bands seperated by a golden one in the middle. The golden band also has a trident, which symbolizes Barbados independence from Britain, and each point of the trident represents a point of democracy. The blue bands symbolize the ocean and the sky, and the golden band symbolizes the sand of Barbados.
