Hockey is a sport in which two teams compete by trying to maneuver a puck or ball into the opponents' goal. The puck may only be handled using a stick.

In many countries (especially Canada, the USA and the Scandinavian countries), hockey refers to a game played on ice with a small rubber disc called a puck (see the article on ice hockey). Field hockey is played on turf using smaller sticks and a ball.

Unihockey is played in sport halls.

roller hockey is a variant of ice hockey that is played on concrete or asphalt using in-line roller skates.

Air hockey is played on tables indoors.
