Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III (born December 24, 1946) is the junior United States Senator from Alabama. He is a member of the Republican Party and has lived in Alabama for most of his life.

Sessions was an attorney for many years and an army reservist in the 1970s, achieving the rank of captain. He was attorney general of Alabama from 1994 until 1996, when he won his election to the United States Senate. He was reelected easily in 2002.
