Pelle the Conqueror (also known as Pelle erobreren) is a 1987 film in Danish and Swedish which tells the story of Danish immigrants to Sweden who try to build a new life for themselves. It stars Pelle Hvenegaard, Max von Sydow, Erik Paaske, Björn Granath and Morten Jørgensen.

The movie was adapted by Bille August, Per Olov Enquist, Janus Billeskov Jansen, Max Lundgren and Bjarne Reuter from the novel by Martin Andersen Nexø. It was directed by August.

It won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film (Denmark) and was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role (Max von Sydow); it also won the Golden Palm at the Cannes Film Festival and was listed in The New York Times Guide to the Best 1000 Movies Ever Made.
