Rock en Español is the latest generation of Spanish rock and roll. Borrowing heavily from British and American rock and roll music and his own popular music (cumbia, ranchera, rumba, tango, etc) Rock en Español has evolved from a cult-like music movement to a more well established music genre.
Today, Rock en Español includes bands from all over Latin America and Spain:
- Argentina: Enanitos Verdes, Los fabulosos cadillacs, Illya Kuryaki and the Valderramas
- Chile: La ley, Los Prisioneros, Los Tres
- Mexico: Café Tacuba, Caifanes or Jaguares, Maná, Molotov
- Colombia: Aterciopelados, Ultrágeno, La Derecha
- España: Heroes del Silencio, Extremoduro, Barón Rojo, Rosendo, Silvio, Tabletón
- Puerto Rico: Menudo (rock-pop), Words For 2, No U Turn
