Note that the rope dress does not restrain the wearer in any way, although it does apply pressure over the area bound. However, the rope dress is often used as a basis for other bondage, and needs to be treated with the same respect for safety as other bondage techniques. A rope dress is often used with, or integrated with, a crotch rope and/or a shinju ("pearl") breast harness.
